How scientific rigour helped Team GB’s saddle-sore cyclists on their medal trail
After backroom staff found that pain in the nether regions was a serious issue, a ban on bikini waxing and adjustments to saddle angles made a big difference.
Kerena Fussell - a champion of new ideas
Like a lot of new people in my life I met Kerena on Twitter! She uses the hashtag
#space4cycling. Kerena also has Instagram that is very personal that reflects her
love of the outdoors whether on a bike, surrounded by plant life, near a canal
or out campaigning. Self proclaimed Bike rider, allotmenteer, Towpath Ranger,
happy snapper all of these resonated with me plus she cycles as her main
mode of transport. In fact I have used Kerena's Blog and social media on a
number of occasions to source bike related items.
"I ride more or less every day - my commute is from East London to
SW1 roughly about 10 miles. Its only recently that I've started started doing
longer rides, having sold our car and bought touring bikes.
The bikes are custom builds from Temple Cycles, which are an absolute
joy to ride! Bike Nicks work great with the Brooks Cambium I have on mine.
My cycle style - hmm. I try to dress as near to my normal clothing as possible,
which is basically jeans and a top. I wear quite a bit of Vulpine gear and also
Velocity which is great. And of course Bike nicks. "
Last word - Coffee! a decaff latte or flat white is Kerena's preference.
